It’s small but it’s there. It made it through the Easter snowstorm and the freezing temperatures of Minnesota unpredictable . For me it’s just another reminder that God moves life along. This Covid 19 stay at home, stay in place has not really changed our life. We live on the farm. We have much work to do and are in the fields. We have hundreds of acres to roam and fun toys to keep us busy if planting gardens, working with horses and baking cinnamon rolls isn’t enough to keep us busy. I miss people. I have gone and taken things to people and we make sure grandpa’s on both side have what they need. I miss people. But I can’t miss God. He has made himself so evident. Nothing more beautiful than the simple bud of the daffodil. Daffodils mean something special to us because of 1992 when our baby died. Daffodils remind me that God moves life along and as the bus opens up to bloom there will be beauty if I choose to see it. It might be cold and rainy but there is beauty. We might be asked to stay home and not shop, but there is beauty. We may be temporarily inconvenienced life but things will change. And as change happens, beauty is there if I choose to see it. For some this has been a quiet time of reading and movies. For others especially with kids it’s been a time of creativity and ingenuity. For others it’s been depressing and scary. In all , there is beauty. When Peter was scared, Jesus let him walk on water. Fear can move you to greater things or freeze you where you are. For Peter it did both. I pray that I keep my eyes on Jesus and keep walking. Kind of like those bulbs in the garden. The snow didn’t phase them, the cold and wind didn’t hinder them to just let God bless them to give forth that his, let it bloom and show the beauty. I want to be like a daffodil!

For over a month we waited for 2 big clumps of daffodils and 3 tulips to get through 3 frosts and wilt but we trusted that their beauty would survive and it did, just like yours. So now we’ve cleared the flower beds and underneath are the new iris and tulips we planted and all is well. In the meantime, we’ve watched God’s feathered creatures and the tree buds, enjoying and thanking Him for the beauty. God is great.Pat
